Mission
“Zippers” (i.e., ZIP-AM Lab Members) will
- Lead research on measurement science and control technologies for precision and qualified additive manufacturing
- Develop new manufacturing processes by translating science fundamentals and advancements into manufacturing capabilities
- Leverage computing technologies, data science, and artificial intelligence, to achieve intelligent manufacturing processes and systems
- Upscale additive manufacturing to additive production via research on cyber-physical manufacturing
- Demonstrate applications of advanced manufacturing technologies for fabricating multi-material, multi-scale, multi-functional objects
